“X-Men: Apocalypse” hopes to repeat the smashing success of the critically acclaimed “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” Bryan Singer’s film centres on Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe. Actor Oscar Isaac plays the villain, commonly regarded as a god, who has amassed the powers of many other mutants to become immortal and invincible

Apocalypse wakes up after thousands of years, and becomes disillusioned with the world. He then recruits a team of powerful mutants, including Magneto, played by Michael Fassbender, to destroy the current world and create a new one. Jennifer Lawrence and James McAvoy return to reprise their roles as Raven and Professor X, respectively, and the two characters work together to lead a team of young mutants to stop their greatest enemy and save mankind.

In addition to one exciting scene to another, the trailer also stirred up fans when it teased the return of a favourite X-Men character, Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman. He was last seen in “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” when he was being saved from drowning by Mystique. Fans were kept in suspense whether Wolverine would return in the upcoming film, and with his claws in full display on the trailer, it looks like their prayers have been answered.

“Make of that what you want,” Singer told Empire in an interview. “I will say, it’s not simple. There’s something more pivotal that occurs with that. It hints to a sequence that again fits within the canon of all six movies, and the birth of a new direction. It’s not insignificant, nor is it simply just a throw-in… It’s not the only shot you’re gonna see, let’s put it that way.”

Fans can’t get enough of the “X-Men: Apocalypse” sneak peek, and took to Twitter to express their excitement to see the film.

The highly anticipated movie also stars Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Rose Byrne (Moira MacTaggert), Lucas Till (Havok) and Evan Peters (Quicksilver). Newcomers will also join the “X-Men: Apocalypse” cast, including Alexandra Shipp (Storm), Sophie Turner (Jean Grey), Ben Hardy (Angel), Tye Sheridan (Cyclops), Olivia Munn (Psylocke) and Lana Condor (Jubilee).
