Cast member Ben Hardy recently updated fans with the preparations he’s done for his role as Angel in “X-Men: Apocalypse.” The British actor shared a photo of him learning how to fly.

The 24-year old shared a photo of him on the set of “X-Men: Apocalypse” dangling on air as he learns how to portray his character who can fly. Ben Hardy shared the photo on his Twitter page along with the caption, “Angel needs to know how to fly!@T_Habb @Shanehabb @XMenMovies.” His photo has since received over 100 favourites and 101 retweets.

Ben Hardy, who is famous for his role as Peter Beale in “EastEnders,” will be playing as Warren Worthington III or Angel. In the “X-Men” Marvel comics, Angel later became known as Archangel after he was recruited by Apocalypse to be one of his Four Horsemen. The mutant character was first portrayed by Ben Foster in the 2006 film “X-Men: The Last Stand.”

Fans had their first glimpse of the British star in character back in April. “X-Men: Apocalypse” director Bryan Singer shared a concept photo of Ben Hardy with his Angel wings. According to Mirror UK, it appears that the film will follow the comics when it comes to Angel’s storyline. The character will reportedly eventually turn in to the metallic villain Archangel from the looks of the actor’s costume. His wings consist of weapons and where the feathers are supposed to be are daggers instead.

Ben Hardy was confirmed for the role of Angel back in April after Bryan Singer revealed the actor’s casting during an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “Ben Hardy is Angel -- I shall confirm it for you,” he said. The director also teased what fans should expect to see from the character in “X-Men: Apocalypse” when he added, “But he’s not a very nice Angel! And that’s all I’ll say.”

Ben Hardy joins other newcomers in “X-Men: Apocalypse,” including Sophie Turner (Jean Grey), Tye Sheridan (Cyclops), Alexandra Shipp (Storm), Lana Condor (Jubilee) and Kodi Smit-McPhee (Nightcrawler). These stars will portray the younger versions of their characters since the film is reportedly set in the 1980’s.
