Fans have supposedly been misled regarding the title of the "X-Men" sequel. A recent report claims the movie wouldn't be called "X-Men: Apocalypse" but something entirely different although still relating to the villain.

When movie director Bryan Singer tweeted about the movie last year, fans were reportedly quick to assume the sequel would be entitled based on his post. Thus, "X-Men: Apocalypse" immediately became the "official" title.

However, according to Showbiz411 "X-Men: Apocalypse" is actually entitled "X-Men: Akkaba." This supposed possible new title for the 2016 movie was reportedly revealed through a casting call. The site claims the movie was looking for three 18 years old teenagers to play as 16 years old. Their characters will be called Ava, Dylan and Sabrina. Moviepilot speculates these names represent the younger version of Scott (Cyclops), Jean Gray and Storm.

If "X-Men: Akkaba" does end up as the official title then it still somehow relates to "X-Men: Apocalypse." According to the sites, the term Akkaba refers to a clan of supporters who worship Apocalypse. These worshipers include the villains Death and the Four Horsemen. However, no additional details were revealed, nor the casting call posted, to support the supposed title.

In related news, Tom Hardy has reportedly been eyed to play as the villain mutant according to The Wrap's Jeff Sneider. However, the actor may have to choose between two 2016 movies according to Screenrant if Sneider's claim is confirmed. The actor is reportedly also tapped to star in DC Comics' "The Suicide Squad." But Deadline claims Tom Hardy may appear on the latter, since he's reportedly close to signing on for the David Ayer film.

If Tom Hardy signs on as Apocalypse in the "X-Men" sequel then he would reportedly do the movie justice. The mutant is represented in the comics as having a strong, muscular build. Hardy can supposedly easily match the character's physique if he bulks up again. He has successfully done so in the past especially for "The Dark Knight Rises," where he played as the formidable villain "Bane." However, as with other speculations for "X-Men: Apocalypse," fans may have to wait until official announcements are made on the actor's involvement and whether the new film's official title will be "X-Men: Akkaba."
