Olivia Munn has certainly been prepping up for her role as the mutant Psylocke in Bryan Singer’s “X-Men: Apocalypse.” The actress recently gave fans a tease on what to expect from her character’s skills aside from her telepathic abilities.

According to Comic Book Movie, Marvel’s Psylocke does not only possess telepathic abilities. The mutant is also a marked swordswoman and a martial artist expert. Apparently, Olivia Munn is taking her character’s skills seriously based on her recent Instagram post. The actress took to her Instagram page to share a short video along with the caption, “learned some new tricks.” In the clip the actress is seen showcasing her skills with the sword, as she expertly wields a replica of the weapon with her right hand. Her post has since received over 36 thousand likes since she shared it on Monday, June 29.

Like Bryan Singer, Olivia Munn has also been using her social media page to promote her role in “X-Men: Apocalypse.” She once teased how her costume as Psylocke would look like with a photo she shared on Instagram on April 16. The actress captioned the image, “if the latex fits” and it has since gained over 13 thousand likes. Only half of Munn’s body is seen in the photo and she has on a blue latex glove on her right hand.

More details about Olivia Munn’s portrayal of Psylocke in “X-Men: Apocalypse” have yet to be revealed. Felix Lariviere, the credited hair designer on the film, had previously confirmed through his Twitter post that the actress will sport purple hair for her role.

According to Cinema Blend, Olivia Munn is actually the second actress to portray the live-action version of the mutant. Psylocke was reportedly previously played by Meiling Melançon in Brett Ratner’s “X-Men: The Last Stand.” However, unlike Melançon, Munn is expected to have a much bigger role and will have more screen time in “X-Men: Apocalypse.”

Olivia Munn stars in “X-Men: Apocalypse” along with her fellow newcomers, including Tye Sheridan (Cyclops), Alexandra Shipp (Storm), Sophie Turner (Jean Grey), Kodi Smit-McPhee (Nightcrawler), Ben Hardy(Angel), Lana Condor (Jubilee) and Oscar Isaac (Apocalypse). Returning stars include James McAvoy (Professor Xavier), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Jennifer Lawrence Mystique), Nicholas Hoult(Beast) and Evan Peters (Quicksilver).
