The first scene in the recently released trailer of “X-Men: Apocalypse” is not of the villain but Jean, Bryan Singer revealed in a recent interview. The director also explained some of the other scenes from the video.

In an interview with Empire Online, Singer said that the first scene in the trailer shows Jean (Sophie Turner). The character’s “strange looking” hair led some fans to believe that it was the villain. The director refused to reveal why the character is “doing what she’s doing” in the trailer.

Jean is a powerful telekinetic mutant who has visions about the future in the trailer. The vision reveals the “end of the world” to her. “It’s all about their potential,” the director said. “Jean has a special connection with Xavier, she has a special connection with the psychic world and she has enormous untapped power that’s growing.”

The song in the trailer that Singer chose is “The Hunted” by Snow Ghosts. “I found this song was most haunting,” the director said explaining why he chose the track for the “X-Men: Apocalypse” trailer.

The trailer shows the villain enlisting the support of Storm (Alexandra Shipp). The director explained that when the villain meets with the character, she is “disillusioned” and hasn’t joined the “X-Men” superheroes yet. The director said that the character is “looking for a mother and a father and the village she lost,” in this time period.

The trailer shows the villain saying that he has been called by different names since ancient times and the names refer to god in different cultures. The reason why the villain wants to orchestrate the destruction of the world is because the new world has no “respect or devotion to him.”

“X-Men: Apocalypse” is slated to be released on May 26, 2016 in Australia. Some of the cast members of the movie include Oscar Isaac (En Sabah Nur), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Evan Peters (Quicksilver) and James McAvoy (Charles Xavier).
