Apple is said to be introducing a smart wearable device to the public along with the new generation iPhone 6, this September 9, 2014. Although most people are excited about this new device, Apple co-founder, Steve "Woz" Wozniak does not have much confidence in the wearable device; calling it "a hard sell."

Wozniak, often funny and outspoken, is one of the key figures in the computing industry; therefore, his statements have weight in the industry. Wozniak recently said, "I feel that wearables are a hard sell," according to CNET. "They are go-betweens for your smartphone but are an extra piece and need special advantages that the smartphone doesn't have, in my opinion." Basically, Wozniak believes that if this is the "nature" of the wearable, then it is just functioning as a Bluetooth device, which is already available as a headset.

Observers have pointed out that for a wearable device to be practical and functional, a larger screen-size is more optimal. Most wearables available in the market right now sport a 1.5-inch screen size. Anything larger than that may be deemed as overweight and unattractive. These are definitely down sides.

Comparing a tablet, a smartphone and a wearable device, the one thing that can make the wearable have a slight differentiation in is the its ability to connect with the wearer as a health device, through the assistance of HealthKit. HealthKit is a new platform created to aid individuals in monitoring their health. With possible EKG displays in tow, Woz believes that a lot of people, maybe even millions, would be drawn or magnetized by this concept according to Cult of Mac. But Wozniak, himself, is not really a fan of this new feature. He would not be left astounded like others would be.

Together with the iPhone 6, the wearable is supposedly launching in less than a month. In terms of product success, the final verdict will come soon enough.
