The Nostalrius private servers have been brought back to life by the Elysium Project. It will returning on Saturday.

The Elysium Project has already released a trailer for the return of Nostalrius. They're using the same server code and database that Nostalrius used until it was shut down earlier this year. This means that a lot of characters have transferred over.

It was Blizzard which initiated the revival of the project. It announced before BlizzCon that it wouldn't be discussing legacy servers there, which led some to believe it wasn't something that would be treated as a priority.

As "World of Warcraft" fans recall, Blizzard sent the Nostalrius team a cease-and-desist letter earlier this year. There was a vanilla "World of Warcraft" server which Nostalrius imitates the original game but is supported by WoW and has more than 10,000 players simultaneously. "World of Warcraft" gamers who have played either Nostalrius or Elysium will be able to see the characters on either server again. On Tuesday, the Nostalrius announced that 25,000 accounts have already successfully generated tokens.

There are now speculations that the next "World of Warcraft" expansion could have players exploring the origins of the Titans and battling the Void Lords. The titans are described as the god-like, planet-sized beings that formed and brought order to the various worlds in the Great Dark Beyond. On the other hand, the Void Lords, their villainous counterparts, are monsters built from shadow energy. They exist in the Void and are intent on devouring everything in the universe.
