World of Warcraft , a popular role playing game with real time strategy elements, is reportedly being made into a movie.

According to a tweet by production weekly, Legendary Pictures has set up an office at the CMPP studios. The office is located at Vancouver, Canada. The shooting for the movie is said to begin from Jan 13.

World of Warcraft is a series of games produced by Blizzard Entertainment. The game is set in the imaginary world of "Azeroth." The game has a multitude of magical creatures like Orcs, Elves and Demons, among others.

The most recent expansion for the game series has been "The Mists of Panda" and "Cataclysm." A Massive Multiplayer Online (MMO) version of the game is also available for download.

The plot and cast for the movie are as of now still not known. The most exciting character that fans enjoyed playing was that of "Arthas." The story of the prince is covered in the World of Warcraft - Reign of Chaos, Frozen Throne and Wrath of the Litch King game expansions.

The story revolves around a righteous prince, from a kingdom in the World of Warcraft universe, who turns evil in a time of war. The elements of shock in the storyline and the character development had the fans hooked to the series. The story also provides ample opportunity for some amazing graphics for the upcoming movie.

Some analysts are of the view that fans of Arthas may be in for a disappointment. From a purely business angle it makes sense to explore new characters, plots and worlds, which have not been done in the previous World of Warcraft games, in the upcoming movie as there can be multiple commercial spin offs from the movie.

This could include launching of a new game based on the characters in the movie or making them available for play in the existing World of Warcraft MMO game for a premium.

Whatever the plot chosen for the movie, fans could expect to see some exciting battle scenes between the human race and the magical creatures from World of Warcraft universe.
