If development on CD Project Red’s open-world monster slaying RPG, “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” had gone to plan, gamers would already have the game in their hands. As it is, the game has been delayed twice already and pushed to May. To hold gamers over, Microsoft has released an unboxing video of the game’s Collector’s Edition, while new gameplay showing Geralt hunting a massive Royal Wyvern has emerged from PAX 2015.

Senior Level Designer at CD Projekt Red, Peter Gelencser, narrated a walkthrough of one of Geralt’s numerous side quests. Posted on the official YouTube Channel for “The Witcher,” the trailer sees Geralt head to No Man’s Land on the trail of a caravan of missing villagers.

As noted by Eurogamer in its coverage, the video was shown as part of a Microsoft-focused panel titled “What it Takes to Build a Next Gen Open World Game.” The panel was hosted by the effusive Director of Programming for Xbox Live, Larry Hryb, AKA Major Nelson.

In a separate video posted on the official Xbox YouTube channel Major Nelson unboxed the Xbox Version of “The Witcher 3" Collector’s Edition. The Collector's Edition is already sold out, but Major Nelson promises to give one away to anyone following him on Twitter. Hyrb starts off by talking about the scale and ambition of developer CD Projekt Red’s latest creation before diving into the contents of the massive box.

The show-stopper is is a huge hand-painted figure of the titular Witcher, locked in combat with a ferocious Griffin. There’s also a stylish-looking hardcover art book, featuring concept art created for the game. “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" Collector’s Edition includes:

- A copy of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

- An exclusive CD with the official soundtrack

- The official, developer-created "Witcher Universe - The Compendium"

- A beautiful, detailed map of the in-game world (cloth map exclusive to Xbox One version)

- A set of unique Witcher 3 stickers

- 2 decks of cards (exclusive to Xbox One version)

- A stylish, protective sleeve

- A giant, 33x24x25 cm (10" w US), 100% hand painted, Polystone figure of Geralt of Rivia battling a Griffin

- An exclusive, collector grade Witcher medallion

- A one of a kind SteelBookTM

- A two-hundred page art book, containing breathtaking art from the game

- Huge outer and inner Collector’s Boxes you can store your Witcher merchandise in!

As reported by DualShockers, the dev team are also quite happy with the 16 free post-launch DLC updates they have planned for gamers. Monnier was quick to point out during the PAX panel that the DLC has not yet been produced and thus, is not on-disc. “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” launches May 19 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
