Young winger Edrick Lee of Canberra Riders will be out for the rest of the season following damage in foot ligament against the Gold Coast Titans.

Edrick suffered a Lisfranc injury and will soon undergo surgery coming Friday to heal the damage.

Raiders coach, Ricky Stuart stated Lee's injury as "shattering".

"Edrick is a real strike weapon for us out wide and he's going to be sorely missed for the remainder of the year," he said.

"He is a young player on the rise and we'll make sure he gets the best rehabilitation after his surgery and we know he'll be back bigger and better for us next year."

"Bill Tupou gets an opportunity to move onto the wing with Edrick out for the year and he's been in good form for the Mounties as have a number of players across our feeder and NYC teams."

Edrick started playing rugby at the age of 12 for Easts Mount Gravatt. With a keen eye in basketball, Lee played with Brisbane Bullets before he moved into rugby.

He later signed with Canberra Riders to play for Raiders Toyota Cup in the year 2011.

In his first season under 20s side for Raiders, Edrick played in 14 matches, scored 5 tries, playing wing, second row and off the bench. He soon got his chance to join the first grade match against Melbourne Storm, where he scored a try.

In the year 2012, he re-signed with Canberra for another 2 years till the end of 2014 NRL season.

He also represented Queensland in the inaugural Under 20s State of Origin.

Edrik made his first grade debut on the wing for Canberra against South Sydney Rabbitohs.

On September 23, Lee was listed on Lifestyle Uncuts Top Ten Youngsters in the NRL, alongside other players such as Pau Carter and Nathan Green.
