On Tuesday a small event was held by Microsoft in San Francisco to release the New Version of Windows on special invitation. The event saw the unveiling of the latest version of Windows which everybody was speculating would be called Windows 9. But in a surprise move Microsoft skipped the Windows 9 altogether and called it Windows 10.

The Next Generation of Windows the Windows 10 has new features. The operating system has been revamped and the very dear Start Menu is back. The operating system unifies the experience across all platforms of devices and the command prompt gets a new look.

As the new operating system is released diehard fans would be wondering where to get the operating system. Obviously the full retail version will not be available anytime soon as the release is set in mid 2015. Ardent followers of the Microsoft Windows need not be disappointed as the "Technical Preview" will be available for download from tomorrow, Oct. 1.

But this would be available to anyone who is ready to sign up for the Windows Insider Program. This program is launched for experienced Windows users to give their honest opinion and feedback to Microsoft. Those who sign up for this program are eligible to download and use the Next Generation Windows.

Right now not much information is available regarding how the signing process for the program will work and what would be required by Microsoft. The only information right now is that anyone who is interested in signing up can begin doing so starting on Oct. 1 by visiting preview.windows.com.

However, Microsoft has made it clear that this is not the version of Windows for everyone to download. This is an early release and not the quality for regular use and should be used by people who are technically abled.

It is very obvious that the Windows 10 is still in its early stage and will have issues and bugs that have to be set right by Microsoft before its final release in mid-2015. This will be a real test for anyone who signs up to spend their time troubleshooting and sending back reports to Microsoft.
