Windows 8 users will finally be able to install and experience the Technical Preview build of Windows 10 before January 2015 after Microsoft released a tool that prepares a Windows 8 machine to the next generation OS. It can be done automatically via Microsoft's website or via ISO file installation process.

Windows 8 Now Officially Supports Windows 10 Technical Preview Build Installation

Windows users have now the option to officially install the Technical Preview of Windows 10 on desktop and laptop computers running Windows 8. A specific preparation tool has been made available at the official website of Microsoft, which enables the automatic installation process. Alternatively, the site also pointed a link for those who want to install Windows 10 manually using the ISO file.

But users must first read the system requirements of the Windows 10 Technical Preview, which include the joining to the Windows Insider Program, possible use of ISO file and what kind of computer should run the OS. Windows 10 Technical Preview builds are not designed on everyday tasks due to its early stage of development and constant updates. It is recommended to install the early firmware builds to secondary desktop PCs or capable laptop computers.

Reverting Back To The Original Windows Version

Even if Windows 10 Technical Preview has been installed on a computer, it is still possible to roll them back to the previous OS version. Microsoft supports roll back of Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 from Windows 10 Technical Preview.

Warning: We are not responsible for any error which may occur on the machine. The following instructions are meant for users who do not have the installation media to reinstall Windows OS. Do this at your own risk.

1. For Windows Vista and Windows 7, a recovery media is necessary to reinstall Windows. However, users will need to create that recovery media from a recovery partition on the computer using the software provided by the PC manufacturer. Visit the PC manufacturer's official website to get help and support.

2. For Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, a USB recovery drive will be needed to reinstall Windows. Users are required to have a 16 GB USB flash disk to create a USB recovery drive on a Windows 8 or 8.1 computer.
