Windows 10 for desktop and smartphones was unleashed on Jan 21. The test version of the Windows 10 for phones is expected to get unveiled to the audience in the coming month. Fresh news reveals that the new OS will support octa-core processor which indicates that in the coming future we may soon see Windows 10 smartphones and tablets powered with the high-end processor.

WM Power User reveals that the Windows 10 will support tablets and smartphones powered with octa-core processor and powerful graphics. The news has not been officially announced by Microsoft but a leak from one of the sessions by Microsoft for Game Developers Conference (GDC) reveals that high-end gaming on multi-core mobile devices is expected to arrive soon. The GDC 2015 is going to be organised on Mar 2 in San Francisco, CA, U.S.

Nokia Power User reports that the forthcoming Windows 10 Lumia smartphone would support 3D interaction elements on its UI. However, Microsoft has not revealed anything on its forthcoming flagship. The Android OS is already supporting devices with octa-core processors and in the near future the same will be possible on Windows 10 devices.

Microsoft was supposed to release the Windows Phone 8.1 GDR 2 update and it should have arrived by now, claims Phone Arena. The new update will make it possible to support powerful processors and high-resolution displays. However, speculations have it that Microsoft may have probably axed its arrival. The features of Windows Phone 8.1 GDR2 update are expected to arrive onboard with the upcoming Windows 10 OS.

The source also claims that ever since Nokia’s mobile division was taken over by Microsoft, the company has not launched any high-end smartphone or tablet. In the recent past, Microsoft has launched couple of low-end devices such as Lumia 435, Lumia 532 and the Lumia 535. However, there is no rumour on whether the Redmond giant is working on a high-end Windows Phone powered flagship device. Phone Arena says now that since Microsoft have plans to support high-end devices running on Windows 10 OS, probably it has a new flagship device up its sleeve.
