In April, the first glimpse of the Windows 10 Mobile ROM for Xiaomi Mi 4 had surfaced. Rumours have it that the ROM is now ready and the Mi 4 users are likely to receive it as early as next week.

The Windows 10 Mobile ROM has been developed to let Android users get accustomed to the Microsoft’s mobile platform OS and eventually switch to it. The ROM is exclusively said to be available first for Xiaomi Mi 4 users. According to Neowin, an employee from the Redmond firm has revealed on his Weibo account that ROM will be made available widely in the near future.

He specifically stated that the release of the Windows 10 Mobile ROM for Xiaomi Mi 4 will be available around Nov. 26, the Thanksgiving Day. It indicates that Microsoft has been long working on the beta version of the ROM and it is now ready to be available to general users. If the attempt to release Windows 10 Mobile ROM becomes successful, non-Lumia handset owners will be able to enjoy the new Windows 10 Mobile OS on Android devices.

According to Phone Arena, since the roll out of Windows 10 Mobile ROM is drawing near, Microsoft may also reveal a list of Android devices that will support the new ROM. The reason why Microsoft chose to first make the ROM available to select users of Xiaomi Mi 4 users is that fans of the Chinese firm are known to provide consistent feedback to software updates.

Xiaomi Mi 4, which was released last year, runs on MIUI--a customised edition of Android. It features a 5-inch IPS display that supports full HD resolution. It is powered by Snapdragon 801 chipset along with 3 GB of RAM. It is available in two storage editions of 16 GB and 64 GB. It features a rear camera of 13-megapixel and a front-facing camera of 8-megapixel. It is equipped with a massive battery of 3,080 mAh capacity.
