Microsoft has scheduled an official event on January 2015 to demonstrate the consumer benefits of the upcoming Windows 10 OS version. However, several file sharing sites have leaked the build 9888 of the operating system intended for the company's partners rather than insiders.

Microsoft Windows 10 OS Build 9888 Leaked Out From File Sharing Websites

WinBeta reported the leak of Windows 10 build 9888 online at a number of different file-sharing websites. Build 9888 is one of many builds of Windows 10, but unlike the Technical Preview available from Microsoft (Build 9879) for Windows Insider, it is intended for partners.

For security reasons, WinBeta did not post any links where someone can download the build 9888 and it is highly recommended not to download the unreleased software version due to lack of legitimacy and guarantee of safety once installed on a computer. In terms of changes provided by Build 9888, a video revealed interesting details such as additional animations and changes on the Context Menu though; the OS is still not ready for consumer use.

1. New user interface of Content Menu are found on both the Taskbar and Start Menu. However, the UI improvements are not yet available in global scale including the desktop revealed by the highlighting effect.

2. New animations such as the zoom effect when maximising and restoring the size of a window that replaced the popping effect from build 9879.

3. Settings app found on the Start Menu and list of programs replaces the old PC Settings app and comes with a search bar.

4. Windows NT version is noted as "Version 10.0" which jumped from version 6.4, the beginning of Windows 10. According to WinBeta, Microsoft could have done it on purpose to unify all devices including smartphones and tablets to the core of Windows 10.

Technical Preview Of Windows 10 Available At Microsoft

Users with advanced knowledge on Windows and desiring to try the early build of Windows 10 can simply join the Windows Insider Program which enables a user to get first-hand experience of all new features from the upcoming OS. But those who want to do so must be aware of the following conditions:

- Download the preview if to simply want to try out the OS and like to share opinions about it.

- Download if you don't mind receiving lots of updates or a UI design which can change over time.

- Download it to know the way around a computer and feel comfortable on troubleshooting problems, backing up data, formatting the hard drive, installing the OS from scratch or restoring from an old one.

- Download it to get familiar on how to use ISO files.

- Download it if you own another machine which is not used for everyday tasks.
