Windows users and gamers could face a number of issues with Windows 10 upon its release on July 29. Various reports are saying these issues are related to user experience, gaming performance, battery life, connectivity and even the so-called Blue Screen of Death.

Compatibility with games

Certain game titles such as “The Sims 4” are currently being tested to be made compatible to Windows ensuring best gaming experience to players. Most issues related to games not running on the new Windows OS are linked to the software and hardware compatibility. Users must check manufacturers on available drivers for Windows 10 and additional information from NVIDIA and AMD for graphics cards. Moreover, players should also contact game providers if Windows 10 will work fine especially on Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games and similar ones such as “League of Legends” and “DOTA 2.”

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection issues are likely to be common just like in smartphones and tablets after upgrading to a new OS version. Problems such as disabled Wi-Fi and Bluetooth radios, unable to connect on network and more can be solved by simply downloading the latest respective drivers for Windows 10 from the manufacturer’s website.

Performance and battery life

Some Microsoft users have reported decreased battery life after upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 8. Several factors can affect decreased battery life, such as new services constantly running, more graphic effects on themes and desktop customization. This problem is expected to occur but Windows 10 basically runs on the similar design applied on Windows 8. Windows 7 users receiving the free upgrade must be prepared in case Windows 10 affects battery performance.

Efficiency and stability

Blue Screen of Death or BSOD is a very common issue on Windows OS and also expected to happen on Windows 10. In case the free upgrade offers a clean installation, it is best to choose the option to have a fresh start with Windows 10. It removes any leftovers of the previous OS on the machine which can reduce system instability. Make sure to backup all data files installed on the machine before choosing the clean installation.

Other possible issues

There are other possible issues users could face with Windows 10 such as sluggishness, system freeze, not working features, etc. Since Microsoft just developed Windows 10, expect several patches coming your way to fix bugs and issues. In addition, send feedback to the developer so issues won’t be left unaddressed too long.

Windows 10 features major changes inspired by the combination of Windows 7 and Windows 8 such as the Start button, native virtual desktops, a new browser called Microsoft Edge and more. It is set to be released commercially on July 29 with Windows 7 and Windows 8 users entitled to a free upgrade.
