One of the most intriguing match-ups of the tournament will take place when Milos Raonic and Nick Kyrgios clash in the third round of the 2015 Wimbledon Championships. Raonic needed four sets to cruise past Tommy Haas 6-0 6-2 6-7 7-6, whilst Kyrgios booked his spot in the next round after winning over unseeded Juan Monaco 7-6 6-3 6-4.

The match will be Raonic’s third match already this week, as the 24-year-old Canadian got past Daniel Gimeno-Traver 6-2 6-3 3-6 7-6 in the opener and returning player Haas 6-0 6-2 6-7 7-6 in the second round. Raonic got off to a fiery start winning the first two sets before the German, who was the 2009 semi-finalist, found his game to win the third set. However, Raonic was determined to avoid the casualties list and advance as he worked for the victory in the match that last two hours and 34 minutes. Raonic’s best Wimbledon appearance was when he became a semifinalist in 2014.

The seventh-seeded Canadian will face Australian Nick Kyrgios, who is one of the Australians alongside Bernard Tomic and Samantha Stosur who advanced in the last 32. This is the only the second time that Kyrgios will play at the All England Club. He made his debut last year and made quite an impressive run when he stunned two-time Wimbledon champion Rafael Nadal in the first round, but his thrilling run at SW19 was cut short by the big-serving Raonic in the quarterfinals.

The Canberra native did not do well in his last tournament after being beaten by Stan Wawrinka in the first round at the Aegon Championships. He is looking to get back on track in the grass courts, where he has a winning percentage of 85.7 last season when he won the ATP Challenger title in Nottingham and defeated Rafael Nadal in the Wimbledon quarterfinals.

Kyrgios trails behind the World No. 8 Raonic in their series 0-2. The upcoming third round clash will also be the third time that the duo will meet in a grand slam tournament. Their first meeting came during the first round of the Roland Garros followed by their quarterfinal clash at the All England Club in 2014.
