Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have survived their opening round matches at the 2015 Wimbledon Championships. Both players have extended their winning streak against their opponents on day two of the grand slam tournament held at the All England Club in SW19.

Federer, who is bidding to become the first-ever player to win eight Wimbledon titles, needed one hour and seven minutes to beat Dzumhur to advance in the second round on Tuesday. The Swiss tennis great crushed the Sarajevo-native Damir Dzumhur with straight-sets victory 6-2 6-3 6-3.

The last time that Federer had dropped a set in the first round of a grand slam tournament was in the opener of the 2010 Wimbledon against to Colombian and then World No. 60 Alejandro Falla where he dropped the first two sets before fumbling his way to win the succeeding sets and claim the victory. Even though he convincingly won the match in straight sets against Dzumhur this time, Federer, who turns 34 in August, said that he doesn’t really care about the score as long as he wins.

“The score, it is what it is,” Federer said via ATPWorldTour.com. “I don’t think it really matters at the end of the day where the scoreline is, for me, it’s about playing the tournament and watching the ball that’s coming from my opponent.”

It was the second time that Federer and Dzumhur had met on tour. Their first meeting came at the Roland Garros this year, where the Swiss also triumphed.

In his next match, Federer will face American Sam Querrey, who also survived the casualties list after scoring straight-sets win over qualifier Igor Sijsling of The Netherlands 7-56-3 6-4. The match will mark the third time that Federer and Querrey will meet on professional tour. Their most recent meeting happened in the first round of the 2008 Roland Garros. Federer leads their series 2-0.

Meanwhile, two-time Wimbledon champion Rafael Nadal managed to come through his first round match against Thomaz Bellucci 6-4 6-2 6-2. His victory over Bellucci has extended his winning streak 5-0 against the Brazilian.

Nadal, who had a poor start this season that resulted to a loss in his self-confidence, reckoned that he played “solid” during the match. He added that his victory had made him feel more “confident” than he was a few months ago. According to the former World No. 1, he is just taking it one step at a time and winning matches certainly help him gain his confidence back.

Nadal will play qualifier Dustin Brown in the next round. Brown advanced after securing a win over Yen-hsun Lu 3-6 6-3 7-5 6-4. Nadal trails in their series 0-1. He was upset by the German in the second round of the 2014 Gerry Weber Open 6-4 6-1.
