The foreign exchange markets is several times bigger than all the stock markets in the US combined, in terms of volume. Everyday, it trades more or less $4 trillion. This is immensely bigger than say, what is traded in the New York Stock Exchange daily (about $28 billlion).

It easly dwarfs the combined trade made in the U.S. stock market at arounf $191 billion each day. Even the much bigger futures markets with a daily trade of around $437 billion is no match to the forex market market. Indeed, none of these financial markets comes close to even just $1 trillion daily! This means more trading opportunity for traders in the foreign exchange than in the stock exchange market.

So what does the greater volume in forex trading means to your trading? A greater volume mean better fill for your orders, or less slippage. Those fills become becomes better the more volume at each price level. Due to its volume, the forex market has the least slippage than any market.

Aside from that, spreads in forex trading are much less, hence the cost is also minimized. The typical spread in forex is 2-4 pips on the majors and 4-7 pop on many of the crosses.
