Tiger Woods tweeted Thursday that he is geared up for an invitation tournament next week, expressing his excitement to make some grounds following earlier reports that the former World No.1 has hit another low in the golf rankings.

Woods according to the Official Golf World Rankings has been kicked out of the world’s top 20 and landed No. 21 in July. This is the lowest rank recorded for Woods since 1997, when he placed No. 22 in the list.

And on Thursday, Woods confirms he is returning to the course again at the Bridgestone Invitational next week, marking the end of his 11-week leave from the game. He wore his shoes golf shoes at the Players Championship on May 12, when he withdrew after a 6-over 42 on the front nine, said AP.

"Feeling fit and ready to tee it up at Firestone next week. Excited to get back out there!" Woods tweeted Thursday, according to AP.
Coming in however means a string of changes for Woods. Aside from his all-time low at No. 21 in 14 years, the former No. 1 still has no caddie to carry his bag at the invitational.

Last week, Woods fired Steve Williams, his caddie of 12 years. And no words as of yet as to who will walk with Woods in the course. Citing a report by The Golf Channel, the AP said that Woods would partner with Bryon Bell at the Bridgestone.

Bell is Tiger’s childhood friend and the president of the Tiger Woods Design. This is not the first time that they will work together as Bell had already caddied for Woods for a number of times, noted AP. Woods had two ties and one win with Bell

No official statement yet has been released by Woods confirming earlier reports.
