Singer Whitney Houston has voluntarily checked herself into a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility.

The diva whose hit song, “I Have Nothing’ has stormed the web recently following the outstanding and showstopping performance of Aussie teen, Jack Vidgen during his audition at Australia’s Got Talent last week, as confirmed by her publicist has decided to undergo treatment in an outpatient program that will help her address her drugs and alcohol issues.

The publicist added, said MTV News on Monday that Houston’s decision to seek for treatment is part of her ‘long-standing recovery process’.

The 47-year-old “I Will Always Love You” hitmaker has been in and out of drug-and-alcohol- related programs for years. He had reportedly entered rehab in 2004 and in 2005.

The “Bodyguard’ star also claimed in 2009 that she was already feeling stronger and was only focused on her sobriety, said MTV News. But TMZ reported that the diva checked into the program 10 days ago.

Houston has been struggling to make a come-back in the music scene since her failed attempt in 2009. She propelled to fame and success in the 1990s but has failed to catch fire to reboot her increasingly declining career. MTV news noted that even her performances overseas have failed to wow the audience.
