The NES Classic Edition is a very hot item right now, proven by the fact that most retailers’ stocks are sold out within minutes of their sale. When the unit’s first shipment was quickly consumed, Nintendo confirmed that a restock would take place as the holidays draw near, and Amazon is the latest in these stores to get a second serving.

Amazon’s official Twitter account dropped a hint of a restock for the NES Classic Edition.

The announcement is vague at best, but at least individuals now know what specific retailer to watch for in the next few days. There are, however, several ways that the sale could go. As BGR reported, it is possible that Amazon will limit the sale to members of its VIP program. This move would help minimise the number of scalpers and it will lure more people into becoming a Prime member.

In addition, it is also possible that the sale will not actually include the NES Classic Edition console, as the announcement made no specific mention of it. The publication stated that -- while it is unlikely -- Amazon might have a flash sale of NES accessories, such as cases and skins.
