Sir Elton John, 67, drew chuckles from the crowd and the announcers when he fell from his chair during a Statoil Masters Tennis event at the Royal Albert Hall on Dec. 6, Sunday. He served as an honorary captain at the charity event.

After tumbling out of his sideline chair, John brushed himself off and quickly got back to his feet. He did not appear injured as he stood right up with the help of tennis legend John McEnroe.

While John managed to recover from the tumble, he eventually watched his team suffer a 22-16 defeat. Former British number one Tim Henman gained the victory against former US Open champion Andy Roddick.

Roddick also lost the final of the ATP Champions Tour event to Chilean former world number five Fernando Gonzalez before teaming up with McEnroe and losing to Henman and Jamie Murray 5-0.

Tennis legend Billie Jean King also served as co-captains with John for the Mylan World Team Tennis Smash Hits exhibition. Under John’s team are Martina Hingis and Heather Watson who won over Kim Clijsters and Sabine Lisicki 5-4 (5-2).

The charity tennis event raised funds for the Elton John AIDS Foundation, which has raised over $300 million for AIDS and HIV treatment and prevention since 1992. Watch John fall from his sideline chair in the tennis match here:
