The recent announcement of the Australian dollar hitting an all time low has left many holidaymakers having to create new plans, and instead discover domestic holiday destinations rather than travel internationally.

Victoria’s capital, Melbourne, has long been a popular destination for both domestic and international tourists - and what’s not to love? Melbourne is a great city that perfectly combines art, architecture, culture and food. Most travel itineraries are likely to recommend that you traipse amidst the city skyline, check out Fed Square and the Melbourne Museum.

But what if you’ve been there, done that, or want to try something different? Whether you’re visiting the city for a day or a week, here are six must-do, slightly-off-the-tourist-radar Melbourne activities.
