“Westworld” actress Evan Rachel Wood (Dolores) has opened up about her sexual preference as she accepted her Human Rights Campaign Visibility Award at a gala dinner on Feb. 5 in North Carolina, US. The actress has admitted that she thought women were beautiful.

Wood has shared that she grew up as a "tomboy from Raleigh.” Furthermore, she admitted that she has been drawn to women since age 12.

But she had resorted to bury the same-sex attraction. The frequent anti-gay hate speech she would always hear during her teenage years had pushed her to forget about her feelings towards women.

Now the actress is engaged to Zach Villa, her partner in the musical duo “Rebel and a Basketcase.” She was married to actor Jamie Bell and they had a three-year-old son, whose name has been kept secret. Wood gave birth in July 2013.

Wood admitted that she was further confused by inconsistencies in the way she feels. "I also thought that men were beautiful," she explained.

The actress believes that some people think artists do not speak up, but she’s not one who would remain silent and keep her feelings to herself. "I choose to reflect the times and situations in which I find myself,” Wood said, quoting the late singer and civil rights activist Nina Simone.

Wood’s character in “Westworld” season 1 is the oldest host in the park. Over the years, she has been updated countless of times. Dolores is not self-aware and is not one who would question her reality.

Aside from her role in “Westworld,” the actress is also known for her portrayal of Jenny in “Big with Evan Rachel Wood and Darren Criss.” She has also played Daisy Kensington in “Barefoot” among others.

“Westworld” season 2 has been confirmed and fans will be delighted to know that Wood will be coming back to reprise her role. In an interview with Indie Wire, she said no one is more excited than her to make a comeback. “No one’s more excited than me to come back — I guarantee it,” she said. She teased that the next season is going to be warp speed.

Last month, HBO president of programming Casey Bloys confirmed that “Westworld” was not coming back until 2018. The first season of “Westworld” started airing in Australia on Oct. 3 through Foxtel. The series aired in the US and the UK through HBO.

It is expected that Westworld” season 2 will see more of Dolores. Official air date of the upcoming instalment is yet to be officially announced.
