“Wentworth” season 5 is expected to see more of Kate Jenkinson (Allie). In the final episode of the latest instalment, Bea Smith’s (Danielle Cormack) lesbian lover has awaken from coma, as if the former had a death wish before passing away. Previously, the actress has talked about her relationship with Cormack and their on-screen chemistry.

Jenkinson shared that she did not personally know Cormack when she arrived on the set, but adored her even before they officially met. As they went on with their shoots for the Australian television series, their working relationship has grown stronger. “I had a kind of talent crush on Danielle, but as we got to know each other and our relationship solidified and deepened,” the actress told Curve Mag.

The actress even compared her relationship with her co-actress to that of Allie and Bea. Their journey was similar to that of their characters in the show because just like the roles they portray, Jenkinson and Cormack have fallen into a fun and easy friendship. The only difference is that Allie and Bea had a romantic relationship.

Jenkinson believes that it would be beneficial if actors have fun while working. “I feel like a good enough actor can manufacture a convincing level of chemistry, but it’s invaluable and a huge gift if you really adore the person you have to go on that journey with, and it was so much fun working with her on this relationship,” the actress added. She never felt weird about the scenes with Cormack as it always felt “organic and truthful.” She said the intimate scenes required connection and trust.

“Wentworth” season 5 is likely to centre on Allie’s journey now that her lesbian lover was gone. Reports say that although Cormack’s character was confirmed dead by the show producers, she would still appear next season in a series of flashback. This report, however, was not officially confirmed yet. Even Cormack’s camp is mum about her possible return next season.

In the latest season, viewers have witnessed Joan “The Freak” Ferguson (Pamela Rabe) injecting Allie with a lethal cocktail of drugs. Doctors said there was a very little chance that she would make it alive. But then she was seen waking up as The Freak stabbed her lover to death.

The crime drama TV series originally aired on SoHo in Australia. Official air date for “Wentworth” season 5 is yet to be announced.
