With nearly half of “Wentworth” Season 4 having aired, Tammy Macintosh has decided to share her experience of playing Karen Proctor, also known as Kaz on the show. The actress described her work on the show as “emotionally and physically crippling.”

Macintosh said in a recent interview that playing her character on the show was “exhausting,” Foxtel reports. She, however, also admitted that playing Kaz was “the most satisfying, dream role” that any actor can ask for. She added that she had no idea that the role was going to be “emotionally and physically crippling.”

The actress recalled one scene from the previous season for which she had to fly down to Melbourne. The scene was an action sequence in which she had to beat a man. On her flight back, Macintosh recalled that her body was “so sore” and even mentally she was “in this stupor for about an hour” because of the scene. “I was almost in shock,” she said.

Macintosh had a similar experience in “Wentworth” Season 4. The actress said that she didn’t realise the intensity each scene would demand of her this time around. There is darkness, anger, defeat, manipulation and “ ten different levels of this emotional tiramisu” for her character this year.

The actress said that it was both “exhausting” and “amazing” experience for her. “ I’m so proud to be a part of this show. It’s such a blessing,” she said. Talking about her character, she said that Kaz was very “reactionary.” “She’s just playing and up for creating as much chaos as she can,” she said.

“The damage is more likely to be done when she gets out that door. Then she’ll get her revenge,” Macintosh teased. Kaz has no plans to be Top Dog in “Wentworth” Season 4. The actress teased that being Top Dog wasn’t Kaz’s philosophy. “For her, the whole Top Dog thing should be broken down completely,” she said.
