Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth started making out on the stage after their performance Sunday night at the 2015 American Music Awards (AMAs), making everyone's hearts beat a little faster.

Trainor first performed “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” on Sunday night, and she later joined Puth to perform their duet "Marvin Gaye" After their "Marvin Gaye" performance, the two locked their lips, wrapping their hands around each other.

Prior to his performance, Puth had warned at the red carpet that there is "a lot of making out" during his performance with Trainor, according to People. Later, a source told People that Trainor and Puth are "just friends."

Puth, too, said that he and Trainor are just friends. "There was a lot of making out. The dancers were making out and I’m sure some of the other dancers were making out. I think that’s it though,” Charlie was quoted as saying by Just Jared.

“We’re friends and it’s all part of my whole vision when I made ‘Marvin Gaye,’ for people to hear the record and spontaneously make out with each other. That was the goal tonight for the live show,” he added.

The Trainor and Puth's kiss saw Twitter explode with reaction, with fans asking the two artists to come together. #MeghanCharlieAMAs immediately started trending.
