The 2014 Motorola Moto X handset is relatively bigger in size and faster in overall performance, when compared to the well-received 2013 model. Although the external look and the under the hood configurations vary, the customisation offered with the help of Motorola's Moto Maker site stays intact in the 2014 Moto X. The Moto Maker lets the Moto X owners to tailor-make the appearance of their device, by giving a multitude of options on back shell, accents and colours. This way, the phone can be transformed into a whole new device in front of the eyes. Highlighting this quality of the Moto X, Motorola has released an uber-cool commercial targeting the holiday season.

The latest Motorola Moto X ad indicates that customising the device with Moto Maker is like constructing it with one's own hands, says Phone Arena. [Scroll down to watch the commercial.] In the advertisement, a potential buyer seems to experiment with the colour, inscription and accent of the Moto X handset and appears to change the customisation left and right. At the same time, the background work shows how the phone's ever-changing look is actually constructed, according to the tailor-made preference of the Moto X owner. The ad clearly depicts what goes into making the handset look personalised according to an individual's requirement.

Considered as a worthy replacement, the Gen-2 Moto X was released in September. It is worth noting that the Moto X 2014 runs on the latest Android v5.0 Lollipop, unlike other recently released devices. Moreover, the Moto X can be availed from AT&T, Verizon and US Cellular.

As far as the key specifications go, the Moto X 2014 features a 5.2-inch display complemented by 1080p resolution. The phone is beautifully wrapped in a metal frame encircling the edges and thereby providing the much-loved premium look. The device is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor and backed by 2 GB of RAM. Also, there is a 13 MP rear-facing camera unit with dual LED flash support and a 2 MP snapper at the front. Speaking of memory, the handset comes equipped with 32 GB of internal storage with no microSD card support. Also, the entire configuration is powered by a modest 2300 mAh battery unit. Additionally, the Moto X 2014 features water-resistant coating and hence, the device can endure accidental water splashes.
