Andy Murray will play Milos Raonic in the semifinal round of the 2016 Australian Open at Melbourne Park, but the world No. 2 must clear his mind of off-court distractions if he wishes to earn a shot at a third Grand Slam title.

Murray, apart from the matches he has won throughout this year’s Australian Open, has endured a wild week that involved the collapse of his father-in-law Nigel Sears on Saturday. The two-time Grand Slam winner admitted he was not proud of his on-court behaviour after showing a lot of emotion in his previous matches.

“Things have obviously happened with family at other stages, but not in the middle of a grand slam and with Kim obviously heavily pregnant, as well,” Murray, who defeated David Ferrer in the QF round 6-3 6-7(5) 6-2 6-3, said, reports The Guardian. “I’ve never experienced anything like it before. The last few days were difficult, for sure.”

Murray revealed his mind was wandering during his fourth quarter encounter with Aussie Bernard Tomic, saying that his concentration level suffered while thinking about getting home to his pregnant wife. But in the semifinal stage, Murray needs all the focus to overcome a surging Raonic, who needed four sets to fend off France’s Gael Monfils 6-3 3-6 6-3 6-4.

The big-serving Canadian gained huge momentum after defeating Roger Federer to win the Brisbane International title earlier this month. The world No. 14 said he was confident he could beat Murray as he eyes his first Grand Slam final appearance.

“I have certain aspects that I would like to manipulate and use my game in, and I’m sure he’s going to try to do a lot of different things, too,” Raonic said, reports the Irish Examiner. “I think it’s going to be a race to who can get in their comfort zone first.”

Murray is tied with Raonic at 3-3 in their FedEx ATP Head2Head standings, but the Brit had won their last two meetings and has more experience playing at major tournaments.
