Draymond Green, the frontrunner to win Defensive Player of the Year this season, tallied 11 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists, 5 blocks and 1 steal as the Golden State Warriors routed the Cleveland Cavaliers 126-91 at the Oracle Arena on Monday evening.

Green also picked up a Flagrant 1 foul after a hard collision with LeBron James during the second quarter. Upon viewing television replays, it appeared as if James had flopped and was over-selling the collision by remaining on the floor for nearly a minute. Green mocked James on his way to the bench, following which the four-time MVP was constantly booed for the rest of the evening.

In what was a Martin Luther King Day holiday special, the arch-rivals locked horns for the second and final time in the season after the Cavaliers' 109-108 victory on Christmas Day. Just like the Xmas Day game, the Warriors once again dominated three quarters of the game before slowing down in the fourth quarter. Though the Cavs cut Warriors' lead to less than 20 in the final period, they couldn't generate enough offense to amount a comeback. | See final scores on ESPN |

The Warriors asserted a 79-49 half time lead thanks to spectacular ball-movement and shooting before the Cavaliers out-scored them 22-17 in the third quarter to open a small window of opportunity. But the reigning NBA champions were never in the hunt due to poor shooting nights for LeBron James and Kyrie Irving who finished 6/18 and 6/19 from the floor respectively. Also, Kevin Love played only 16 minutes and didn't return for the second half due to back spasms.

Klay Thompson led all scorers with 26 points (8-17 FG, 5-11 3 Pt) while Kevin Durant had 21 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals and 3 blocks including a thunderous rejection on LeBron James during the first half. Stephen Curry had 20 points, 11 assists and 4 steals including a spectacular buzzer-beater to end the first half. The Warriors' bench, which has been the team's weak point this season, combined for 44 points led by Andre Iguodala (14 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds) and Shaun Livingston (13 points, 6-7 FG).

At this stage, it's almost a foregone conclusion that the teams will return to the NBA Finals for a third consecutive season in June. After the Warriors captured the 2015 championship, Cleveland bounced back from a 3-1 deficit in last year's finals to win a franchise-first title. With the Finals series tied at one win apiece, this year's potential showdown will be the rubber match.

The Golden State Warriors (36-6) will now stay at home to host Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday before hosting the Houston Rockets on Friday.
