Board games are interesting beasts. On paper they sound dull and boring, having to rely on one's imagination for visual aid while spending a ridiculous amount of money on cards and game pieces sounds ludicrous, but in reality they're usually tense and unpredictable, especially with friends. So with that being said you would think making a single player videogame based on said board game would be counterproductive to both parties, but "Warrhammer: Quest" proved many mobile gamers wrong. The success of the game has lead to it being re-released to PC, Mac and Linux in early 2015 via Steam.

Much like the tabletop game that inspired it, "Warhammer: Quest" is a dungeon crawler where your goals are to get loot and kick some Orc butt while doing so. Though unlike Diablo or Dungeon Hunter, this game plays more like a strategy RPG where you command your party one by one and give them specific orders.

Your first party will consist of a Human Barbarian, a Dwarf Iron-breaker, a Human Wizard, and a Elf Waywatcher. You can also gain better characters and loot through in app purchases or level grinding in weaker dungeons, though that may take awhile, which is one of the game's bigger flaws. While Toucharcade gave it a positive review, they criticized the currency system for being a bit unfair as it is a paid game, but if players want to get ahead they will have to pay more.

The version coming to the PC, Mac and Linux will have two purchasing options according to Eurogamer. There is the regular standard edition that costs around $14.99, this version will have four heroes, three game areas and new enemies such as vampires and zombies. The deluxe edition which will be available for $29.99 will have seven additional heroes, five additional weapons and new enemies in the form if skeletons and necromancers, while also having everything in the standard edition.

"Warhammer: Quest" will be available next month for PC, Mac and Linux through Steam so if you like getting loot and raiding dungeons this is game is tailor made for you. Whether you're a fan of the "Warhammer" mythology or just a nut for RPG's this should be exciting news for all.
