Deadline has reported that Chavarria who is set to star in Universal’s upcoming film “Low Riders” will play one of the main leads. His role will be reportedly in the vein of James Franco’s part in 2011’s “Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes.”

The actor is best known for his role hit series "East Los High" which aired on Hulu.com. He has also appeared in films “Freedom Writers” and “A Better Life.” He played Juan in a 2015 TV series “Aquarius.” In the upcoming film “Low Riders,” he will play a role of teen who is mesmerized by lowrider cars. He will be shown caught between his father and brother who will compete in annual lowrider “Supershow.”

Meanwhile, it is not known what character will Chavarria play in “War of The Planet of The Apes.” Matt Reeves is directing the film and has also written it with Mark Bomback and Pierre Blue. The film has been set after the events of “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” whose ending was reportedly left open ended to build the story of “War of the Planet of the Apes.”

“I think we should be left with a more open—knowing that we were going to figure out what the next story is, said Reeves to Collider, “What was really most important was to leave you in that emotional space with Caesar, which is the ending of the movie that you’ve seen, and know that the future is coming.”

The plot details of “War of the Planet of the Apes” are being kept under wraps. The other star cast of the film has yet to be finalized. It opens July 21, 2017.
