YouTube Red was recently launched by video streaming site, YouTube. With it will come the reality show “Scare PewDiePie,” which will feature real-life horror games for the video logging superstar to try and survive.

YouTube Red is a new subscription service without video ads that provides users a number of exclusive original content for $9.99 a month. “Scare PewDiePie” will be created by the team behind the hit TV series “The Walking Dead,” which will feature PewDiePie, whose real name is Felix Kjellberg. He will explore various scary sites with a camera strapped onto him so that users can experience the horror in first-person perspective.

The horror games are intended to create hype around YouTube Red. Given that PewDiePie is the most popular YouTube sensation in the history of the site, it is not a surprise that he is the star of the new promotional campaign. A number of other games starring PewDiePie are expected as YouTube Red continues its advertising efforts.

Game Rant writes that in “Scare PewDiePie,” the character will be dealing with several horrors that will also emulate some of his favourite video games. “The Walking Dead” creator Robert Kirkman will serve as producer of the series. Not a lot of details have been revealed about the show, but it is expected to be launched sometime in 2016. The official title is yet to be announced.

As for YouTube Red, underage subscribers need their parents’ permission to sign up.

This is not the first time that PewDiePie will be featured in a game. Previously, he shared a video of himself playing the horror game “Amnesia.” He also recently launched his new game, titled “PewDiePie: Legend of Brofist,” which was well-received by fans, especially his 40 million subscribers on YouTube.

The YouTube star from Sweden has been very successful in his social media events and projects, raking in $7.45 million in the past year. He has appeared in a number of Hollywood shows and scored several book deals, according to the same Game Rant report.

More updates and details on YouTube Red and “Scare PewDiePie” are expected soon.
