‘The Walking Dead’ season 8
Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) return this October for ‘The Walking Dead’ season 8. AMC/The Walking Dead

There has been a lot of chatter about “The Walking Dead” season 9. The fans have heard a lot about what will happen on the show. But now, the official Twitter account of the show has asked the fans to consider that things may not turn not the way they believe, after everything that has been said.

“Don’t believe everything you hear,” the official Twitter page stated [see below]. There hasn’t been any further explanation about what exactly this tweet means, and it has all the fans busy wondering.

The biggest event on the show this time around is expected to be the death of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln). There were also reports of the return of Jon Bernthal. It isn’t clear if Bernthal will be back for a quick cameo of his character in a flash back or if he will be playing an entirely new character to take Rick’s place.

The future of Maggie (Lauren Cohan) is also not clear, after there was some concern with regards to her contract negotiations. Morgan Jones (Lennie James) is already gone, leaving Daryl (Norman Reedus) as a possible candidate for the lead role.

On the romance side, things won’t be so good either. Carol (Melissa McBride) won’t get to enjoy time with Daryl for some reason. The possible death of Rick will leave Michonne (Danai Gurira) without a love interest on the show.

There will be a time jump in the next season that will allow the above mentioned storylines to unfurl. But, judging by the tweet, not all of the above mentioned events will take place on the show. What exactly do the producers have in store? The fans will have to wait and watch to find out.

“The Walking Dead” season 9 is set to premiere some time later this year.
