“The Walking Dead” season 7, episode 9 is set to return next week following the series’ midseason break. A lot of speculations have surfaced about who gets taken out next by Negan when the more interesting topic should be who gets to have a crack at the Saviors’ leader and attempt to eliminate him.

Spoiler alert: This preview contains plot details about “The Walking Dead” season 7. The season premiered Oct. 20. The series is available for Australian viewers to watch on Foxtel every Monday, 1:30 pm and 7:30 pm.

Rick and company are set to go to war against Negan and the Saviors. The only problem is that they need more help against the bat-yielding antagonist and his crew, and the other communities don’t want further bloodshed. Rick will have to convince Ezekiel and the rest of the Kingdom as well as Gregory and the Hilltop people to have a chance against Negan, and it won’t be an easy task at all, which could lead some characters into feeling agitated and frustrated.

Sasha, in particular, has had her share of tough pills to swallow on the AMC show, with the most recent being the brutal slaying of her boyfriend Abraham by Negan. She’s the only “Walking Dead” character whose thirst for revenge has never wavered. Sasha may take matters into her own hands if Rick takes a while trying to persuade Ezekiel and Gregory, which could lead to her demise.

“I’ve never taken my eye off of Negan,” Sonequa Martin-Green told EW about her character. “I know what I believe needs to be done, and I’m ready to see if we can come up with a plan that will work together.”

Martin-Green also said that Sasha isn’t going to tolerate anybody that’s going to stand in the way of progress, especially Gregory, who has been called a coward by Maggie. Martin-Green added that Gregory acts out of fear and is not a team player. She also believes that Gregory might hamper the mission.

“I have no respect for him,” said Martin-Green. “So that’s definitely going to be difficult in my mind to get him on board, even to understand what we’re doing, and beyond that, contribute to what we’re doing.”

Martin-Green has been recently cast as the lead in the upcoming CBS series “Star Trek: Discovery,” which have led “Walking Dead” fans to speculate that her character may soon be killed off the AMC show. If Sasha does attempt to bring Negan down on her own and fails, then it definitely won’t bode well for her.

“The Walking Dead” season 7, episode 9 is entitled “Rock in the Road.” The AMC show’s midseason premiere episode will have a longer runtime than usual at 1 hour and 13 minutes.
