“The Walking Dead” season 7, episode 8 (Walking Dead 7x08) titled “Hearts Still Beating” is the series midseason finale, and if there’s one sure thing fans can expect in midseason finales, it’s shock value.

Spoiler alert: This preview contains plot details about “The Walking Dead” season 7. The season premiered Oct. 20. The series is available for Australian viewers to watch on Foxtel every Monday, 1:30 pm and 7:30 pm.

Last episode saw one of the most anticipated scenes “The Walking Dead” comic book fans have been waiting for. The scene in particular involved Negan and Carl, with the Saviors’ leader ordering his guest to remove his eye patch and sing him a song. A stunned and tearful Carl took off his patch and finished his rendition of “You Are My Sunshine.” That scene may have initiated Carl’s metamorphosis as a man moving forward.

After the “Walking Dead” season 7 debut, which featured gruesome deaths of two beloved characters, nothing much has happened on the show. That said, the series creators surely have something in store for the midseason finale, and it’s safe to say that no one is safe in episode 8. Fans may see one or two characters killed off. But the question is, who?

It could be Olivia, who gave Negan’s face a handful on the last instalment. Michonne is also a possibility, as she was last seen heading to the Sanctuary, where she could ultimately meet her demise. It could also be Rosita, who, out of frustration, may try to eliminate Negan on her own and fail.

“The Walking Dead” season 7, episode 8 is also set to reveal who slipped the note that read “go home” into Daryl’s cell. There are a number of people who could have possibly made that note with the intention to help Daryl. One is Negan’s wife, Sherry, who is obviously not completely down with what’s going on at the Sanctuary. Another one is Dwight, who is clearly conflicted about betraying Negan and could snap anytime soon.

It could have also been Jesus, who was last seen on Savior ground. Or it could have been Negan himself, up to his torturous tricks again. Whatever happens on the midseason finale, it is likely to leave bad tastes in viewers’ mouth.
