Ezekiel and Rick on ‘The Walking Dead’ season 7. AMC/The Walking Dead

It’s getting closer to the end of the AMC series’ current season and everybody is on the edge, both the show’s characters and the fans. The preview of “The Walking Dead” season 7 episode 13, entitled “Bury Me Here,” shows Ezekiel losing his cool and may have finally had enough of Negan and the Saviours.

Spoiler alert: This preview contains plot details about “The Walking Dead” season 7. The season premiered Oct. 20. The series is available for Australian viewers to watch on Foxtel every Monday, 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

It looks like the supposed harmony between the inhabitants of the Kingdom and the Sanctuary is finally starting to corrode. In the next episode’s extended trailer (see video below), Ezekiel seems to be fed up with his and his community’s current situation. And that’s exactly what Rick and the Alexandrians want.

“People have lived through every kind of misery,” Ezekiel tells his group while looking down on an open grave with a sign that says “bury me here.” “It is mere luck we are not all insane.”

“The Walking Dead” season 7 episode 13 synopsis states that “things do not go as planned when a group of Kingdommers delivers goods to the Saviours during a routine supply drop-off,” and that’s precisely what happens in the trailer. Guns are drawn, including Ezekiel’s, with neither group backing down.

“I need you to understand the gravity of what’s happening here,” says a Saviour, presumably to Ezekiel. “I gave you a choice, what is it going to be?”

The intensity on Ezekiel’s face as he’s pointing the gun is palpable. The Kingdom’s leader has been cool and calm throughout the whole season until this. Maybe he now fully understands the gravity of the situation and is about to snap, concluding the teaser by saying “this world drives one mad.”

The preview also shows what fans have been waiting for all season: Carol in action. She can be seen leaving the house and making her way to the Kingdom, bludgeoning walkers that cross her path. She cleverly fends off a few more with a sign post (while up on a tree, no less) before the Kingdom gates are opened for her. Carol is apparently now ready for war.

Rick should be pleased with what is about to develop on “The Walking Dead” season 7 episode 13. During the last instalment, he admitted that he’s still not over Glenn’s death and that his newfound swagger is mostly just for show. But with the Kingdom people and the Saviours’ peace now on the rocks, his odds of taking down Negan and the Saviours just got a whole lot better.
