Season 6 of the hit AMC series, “The Walking Dead,” will soon return on the small screen and days from its premiere date, let’s walk through some of the things that fans can expect in the new season.

In season 5, fans saw “The Walking Dead” main character Rick Grimes, played by actor Andrew Lincoln, heading a coup plot, killing off walkers and trying to rally the people living in “Alexandria Safe Zone” to learn how to fight off zombies in order to survive. According to Rolling Stone, season 6 will continue to feature the old Grimes, who was a strong and ruthless leader, although not everybody will like his character, particularly Deanne Monroe, played by actress Tovah Feldshuh.

In “The Walking Dead” season 6, Monroe is said to be looking at revisiting her initial plan of containing Grimes, so that she can gain control over Alexandria Safe Zone. The former US congresswoman and town matriarch may even find an ally in expert zombie-slayer Michonne.

Another character to watch out for is Morgan Jones, played by Lennie James, whom Grimes met in season 1 of “The Walking Dead.” Jones’ arrival in Alexandria may just be what Grimes needs to keep himself in check against all the chilly takeover plans and ruthless killing.

The upcoming season will also feature new characters to “The Walking Dead”, such as Dr. Denise Cloyd, Carter and Heath, Cleveland reported. The three characters, played by Merritt Wever, Ethan Embry and Corey Hawkins, respectively, will try to find a way to fit into the Alexandria community. However, it is also expected that some characters, be it old or new, won’t make it to the end of season 6 given the rising threat of walkers and Wolves. As to who these characters will be is still a mystery at this point.

What’s sure about season 6 is that it will be filled with many walkers, as shown in “The Walking Dead” trailer released during July’s Comic Con. The clip showed a herd of walkers trying to make their way into the town, as Grimes and his team of zombie slayers tried their best to fight off the massive attack.

Season 6 is promising to be another bloody and exciting addition to the series.

“The Walking Dead” season 6 will premiere on Oct. 11 in the U.S. and Oct. 12 in Australia.
