“The Walking Dead: No Man’s Land” is a new mobile game available on the App Store and is proof that the series continues to strive in different forms of media. “No Man’s land” is the based on the acclaimed television series and features characters from the show, including fan favourite Daryl Dixon, played by Norman Reedus.

What separates “No Man’s Land” from some of the other “Walking Dead” games is the actual gameplay, which has taken some cues from “XCOM” by Firaxis Games, according to Polygon. Players must tactically move their characters around the field and take out zombies, while also trying to survive.

One of the game’s biggest selling points is how it connects to the AMC show. Instead of simply retelling episodes from the previous seasons, players will be given a different point of view with the new characters, with some events running parallel to the ones seen in the show.

Fans will also appreciate how the game truly feels like it’s set in the same world as the hit show, as players have to scavenge for food and take care of their group. A report from App Advice has confirmed that players will also have to choose who lives or dies in their group and can join their friends for multiplayer escapades.

The release of “No Man’s Land” will help the franchise gain momentum, as the sixth season of the show debuts soon. Furthermore, it was recently announced that the “Walking Dead” comic series from Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard would be reaching its 150th issue, which is fairly impressive for an indie comic series. It’s the third longest ongoing series from Image next to “Spawn” and “Savage Dragon,” both of which have passed more than 200 issues.

Mobile users can download “The Walking Dead: No Man’s Land” right now on iOS devices for free. The game is currently unavailable for those with an Android device or a Windows Phone, though that could change depending on how well it does.
