On Dec. 16, 2014, "The Voice" announced the winner of the Season 7 (2014). Craig Wayne Boyd from Team Blake was awarded with the most coveted prize after he defeated Team Adam's Chris Jamison, Matt McAndrew and Damien.

With Craig Wayne Boyd winning the fall season of the year 2014, Coach Blake Shelton claimed his fourth victory as "The Voice" mentor. Previously, he assisted Jermaine Paul, Cassadee Pope and Danielle Bradbery to win the Season 2, 3 and 4 respectively.

The final results of "The Voice" Season 7 were based on viewers' opinion. The America's audience voted for their favourite artists through various voting mediums including social media and "The Voice" app. Meanwhile, it must be noted that iTunes Bonus multiplier was not applied during this cycle. Instead, iTunes votes received by the finalists in past five weeks were added to the finale votes.

Craig Wayne Boyd is a comeback artist. His journey on the voice began with Team Blake. However, the coach decided to let go off him after he was defeated by James David Carter in the Battles. Coach Gwen saved him from elimination and recruited him on her team. Later, in the Knockouts round, Coach Blake Shelton stole him back.

As for his last bid for the votes, Craig Wayne Boyd performed his original composition titled "My Baby's Got a Smile on Her Face." For his duet performance with Coach Blake Shelton he sang "Boots On" and for his solo performance he sang "In Pictures." The results were announced after the two-hour gala event wherein he performed alongside Lynyrd Skynyrd.

The finale also featured performances by other three finalists--Chris Jamison, Matt McAndrew and Damien. Also, making a comeback on "The Voice" stage for the last time were Season 7's eliminated contestants. Meanwhile, fans also enjoyed several celebrity gigs. Towards the end of the show, the host Carson Daly made the big reveal and declared Craig Wayne Boyd the winning contestant and Blake Shelton the winning coach. As soon as the announcement was made, the crowd broke into applause and the winner thanked his mentor expressed his gratitude to his mentor and those who supported him.

Fans must note that the show will return with Season 8 in the year 2015.

As revealed by the show's host Carson Daly on "Today" (via Hollywood Life), "The Voice" Season 8 will see the return of one of the original members of the judging panel Christina Aguilera. The songstress will be joined by the newest addition Pharrell Williams and seasoned mentors Blake Shelton and Adam Levine. NBC confirmed the news on Twitter, later that day.
