"The Voice" Season 7 introduced some excellent talent in the first stage of the competition: Blind Auditions. However, fans must brace themselves for the real competition that begins this week on Monday, Oct. 13, 2014, with Battle Rounds - Part 1. The four judges--Adam Levine, Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton and Pharrell Williams--continue to be the part of the show as coaches of their 12-member teams. Read on to find out what happens in the next level of competition and which contestants are paired together. [Warning: Spoilers Alert!]

'The Voice' Season 7 (2014): Battle Rounds

Last week, the show wrapped up the blind auditions and the judges finalised their teams after selecting 48 artists during the first round of the competition. Each team now has 12 members.

The Battle Rounds is one of the most crucial and exciting stages of the Emmy Award-winning talent show. This round will see the coaches judge the talent and then narrow down the competition to top 24 artists through eliminations before heading to the next round.

Each coach pairs two artists from his team to perform the same song. The coaches judge the performances. The contestant that performs better advances to the Knockout level of competition and the other one is sent packing. Meanwhile, a coach from another team is allowed to steal the two eliminated artists from other teams.

Furthermore, each coach is joined by a celebrity guest mentor or advisor. The two coaches work together to hone the skills of the artists competing to win the most coveted trophy, "The Voice" title and the contract. Joining Team Adam is eight-time Grammy winner and veteran singer Stevie Nicks. Team Blake will be mentored by American country music band Little Big Town's members. Team Gwen will be coached by their Coach's husband and band Bush's frontman Gavin Rossdale. As for the Team Pharrell, R&B sensation Alicia Keys will guide them.
