"The Voice" Season 7 (2014)

"The Voice" Season 7 (2014) began with blind auditions round in September wherein the coaches selected 12 artists each to build their teams. The top 48 artists then battled it out in Battle and Knockout rounds. Last week the show hosted Live Playoffs and Top 20 performed live to not only impress their coaches, but also to win the public votes. Based on their performances, these artists faced eliminations.

In the final phase of the competition, the first segment of the week features performance of remaining artists. Their performances will be judged by public that begins voting for their favourite artists as soon as the voting lines open after the performance episode. The second segment features results based on these votes given by the American viewers. The artists who receive the maximum number of votes advance to the next level, while those with fewer votes are sent home packing.

The last two seasons saw the use of special voting feature "Instant Save." This feature allows the public to save one artist from elimination via votes on Twitter during five-minute voting window. Even though no information has been revealed officially, it is expected to be the part of the show this year as well. Furthermore, the top performers are expected to benefit from iTunes bonus multiplier.
