“The Voice Australia” 2016 a.k.a. “The Voice AU” Season 5 Blind Auditions ended May 23 on Nine Network, with all coaches set for Battle Rounds. Natasha Hoeberigs, Ellen Reed and Sarah Browne are among the last to turn chairs in the first telecast stage of the show, completing all four teams.

Natasha Hoeberigs, 23, from Sydney, sang “Cry Me A River” and turned coaches Delta Goodrem and Ronan Keating. (At this stage, The Madden Brothers’ team is complete.) Natasha worked for a year in Japan, learned the language and gained confidence by being in that adventure. She was also a semi-finalist in “Australia’s Got Talent” in 2012. For “The Voice,” she picked Team Delta.

The coaches observed a number of talents who weren’t able to manage their nerves once they’re up on “The Voice” live. Then an extremely shy woman came along.

Sarah Browne, 32, from Brisbane, sang “Make You Feel My Love” and got Coach Ronan by default. He was ready to push a few moments into the song, later saying Sarah’s voice should not “disappear” in the competition. Sarah filled the last slot left in Team Ronan.

Andrew McKinnon, 19, from Melbourne, dished “Resolution” and got Delta by default. Both Delta and Jessie J were getting ready to push their buttons, but Andrew got a bit weaker in the end, making Jessie hesitate. He went straight to Delta, who looked forward to coaching him into starting strong and ending even stronger.

Before Andrew’s blind audition, Delta had been waiting a while for a male voice to complete her team. Andrew, who grew up in country Victoria, is expected to battle against one of the girls in Team Delta. She may have decided to give all three gentlemen in her team a good chance at staying up to the live shows. The other two guys on Team Delta are opera singer Ben Logan and balladeer Alfie Arcuri.

The last to get a coach from “The Voice AU” 2016 blind auditions is Ellen Reed, 27, from Brisbane. Responding to a question about opportunity blocks, Reed said she faced industry rejections for not being a stereotypical skinny pop star. She went with “Chandelier” which she described as a “fighting song.” Incidentally, Trent Harmon, the winner of “American Idol” 2016 (the show’s last ever season) sang Sia’s “Chandelier” twice on ‘Idol’ -- the second time in the night of the show finale.
