“The Voice Australia” 2016 a.k.a. "The Voice AU" Season 5 aired the seventh night of Blind Auditions on May 16, showcasing more talents and surprises. A gentleman trio called the Koi Boys wowed the audience and got a 4-chair turn. A woman who moved to Brisbane to follow her dreams also got everyone’s attention as she highlighted the harsh realities for women in other parts of the world.

The Koi Boys win the crowd, get a 4-chair turn

The seventh night of the blind auditions started out slow for the coaches, but they got to finally give an all-chair turn by the end of the episode. Ronan Keating, Jessie J., Delta Goodrem and the Madden Brothers all turned for the Koi Boys, who took on “Sh-Boom,” a 1950s song. They made it sound even more fun and contemporary with their beautiful harmonies and fancy grooves.

The trio quickly deliberated on the pitches they have heard from the coaches, who are all eager to get them on their team. They eventually pick Jessie J. There are still several weeks from now up to the finale but Jessie J. was already looking forward to seeing the Koi Boys compete for the year’s title.

Shirin Majd follows her passion, makes her dream come true

Shirin Majd, 34, is originally from Iran. She came to live in Brisbane to follow her dreams. In the video package before the audition, the audience learned that she has been in Australia for five years. While speaking to The Voice Australia host Susan Kruger, Shirin said that in Iran, women are not allowed to perform solos as professional singers.

“When I sing, I feel free,” Shirin said.

The coaches did not get to talk to Shirin after her mesmerizing performance of “Ave Maria” because she somewhat fainted on stage. “Overwhelmed,” Delta said. All is well for this passionate dreamer, though. She will be seen in the next stage of the competition, the battles.
