“The Voice” 2016 Live Shows kick off on Monday (April 11) on NBC. Each of this year’s coaches – Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Pharrell Williams and Christina Aguilera – has at least two very strong contenders in their team of five. Alisan Porter, Brian Nhira, Emily Keener and Adam Wakefield are some of the early favourites on YouTube, weeks ahead of the playoffs.

Here are some of the best performances seen on “The Voice” 2016 since the Blind Auditions, the first broadcasted phase of the competition.

Team Christina: Alisan Porter
Alisan rocked the blind auditions with her emotional story and magnificent vocal prowess. Her cover of Linda Ronstadt’s “Blue Bayou” has over six million views on “The Voice” channel on YouTube. As the titular character in the 1991 movie “Curly Sue,” Alisan was a child superstar. She struggled with the pressure and fell hard into addiction, but she’s now been sober for several years. She’s a happy mom and wife, ready for a solid career in music.

Team Adam: Brian Nhira
Brian is a passionate artist who wowed the judges with his cover of Pharrell’s “Happy” in the blind auditions. As expected, he chose Pharrell as coach. Adam stole him after Pharrell let him go, and now he is continuing to draw thousands of viewers with his amazing YouTube clips. He took on Bruno Mars’ “Grenade” during the Knockouts. (Watch Adam’s reaction as he was owning the stage. How could Pharrell let him go?)

Team Pharrell: Emily Keener
Emily has a soothing, enchanting and powerful voice that made the judges push their buttons within moments from her first note in the blind auditions. Her modern, soaring rendition of Elton John's "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" now has over two million views on YouTube.

Team Blake: Adam Wakefield
In his blind audition which now has over a million YouTube views, Adam failed to get a 4-chair nod. Adam Levine and Blake Shelton fought for him, but Adam naturally chose the country musician as coach. He brought the coaches to their feet after performing "Bring It on Home to Me" by Sam Cooke in the Knockouts. Adam has a radio-ready, compelling voice that pulls the audience in to care for the story in his song. He seems to be the type of contender that would only improve and shine brighter over time.

It is too early to predict the winner of “The Voice” 2016. There are many other strong vocalists in the competition, namely, Laith Al-Saadi (Team Adam), Mary Sarah (Team Blake), Bryan Bautista (Team Christina) and Hannah Huston (Team Pharrell). Christina seems to have the strongest team; Adam even said her team is "crazy." She is very hopeful that a female coach would finally win this year. All the other coaches are fighting for their next win, though. Adam is eager to take a back-to-back win. Blake is hoping his team could make it to the top for the fifth time. Pharrell will exit next year, so he is hoping for a second victory. Which team is your favourite?
