An artist renders the faces of Disney's most popular animated characters into lifelike portraits, and the outcome was astounding.

Karen Graw, an Israel-based graphic artist, came up with the idea with this question, "What would Disney characters look like if I saw their ID photos - just like any other person in line for groceries?"

She then used photo manipulation softwares to tinker with the images of 24 Disney animated characters until she got "the right features and made them real enough looking." The idea was for the new images to be "as close as possible to some real person on the street."

Indeed, most of the images were as "lifelike" as it could get; and it's easy to imagine them as real people you encounter in your day-to-day living. Cinderella shopping for shoes at a store? Or Alice on her way to school? How about Ariel as a lady lifeguard at the beach?

But if you find some of the images still far from being real, Karen pleads to cut her some slack.

"There's not a lot of people out there that look like some of the more ridiculously proportioned Disney characters," Karen writes in the description of the photo collection posted on her Deviantart account, referring to the likes of Hercules, Cruella and other villains.

However, Karen was lucky enough to encounter some people who looked like the characters she had drawn.

"I think I might have seen Ursula on a bus, dressed up like a grandma, and Jafar at a car garage," she tells Yahoo! Shine.

This was not the first time artists have imagined Disney characters in real life. California-based photographer Ryan Astamendi made a series of photo shoots to recreate Disney princesses in real life. The series, entitled the Princess Series, also features former Playboy bunny Holly Madison who modeled as Belle of "Beauty and The Beast."
