Vine has finally launched for the Apple Watch and users can at last play tiny videos on their wrists. This sounds slightly obsessive but it's better than keeping a running count of Twitter followers.

Vine's watch app has been in the works since June this year when it was demoed on stage during an Apple event. This app works on two feeds — favorites and featured — that allows users to see vines the app wants to surface, and those from accounts you’ve tagged as favorites.

Unlike the iOS app, Vines won’t autoplay but you’ve to tap on them first, then they loop, sound and all. A video creator can tell you how many loops your videos have had at glance on Vine. Users can simply swipe left on a Vine to see other content when browsing in a channel or through your own feed.

Vine has the new ability to play back video in watchOS 2, which was launched in September. Vine isn't shipping this update even after the watchOS 2 launch, however. Although Apple has acquired extensive developer support for the watch, the watch is way too slow and feels like there are too many iPhone apps crammed into a smaller space. Vine shrinks the video, presenting featured Vines and videos from your favorite accounts.

Vine, however, doesn’t do the job of explaining how it determines which Vines are similar. Upon introducing the feature, Vine said, “As you and your fellow Vine viewers watch and interact with Vines, that activity helps us determine which posts to show”.

Meanwhile, Vine is also updating its iOS app with a new way to discover videos, depending on your choices Vine loads related clips and users can now swipe left on any video. You can keep on swiping until you get bored.
