A few pages of the “Vikings” season 5 episode 17 screenplay have apparently been leaked, including a “script amendment list” that foretells Aethelwulf’s fate. A script of an interesting dialogue between his stepson Alfred and Ubbe is also included.

Spoiler alert: This article contains plot details about “Vikings” season 5. An official announcement has yet to be made regarding the air date of the season premiere. Episodes from the series’ previous seasons are available for Australian viewers to watch on SBS.

Moe Dunford, the Irish actor who plays Aethelwulf in the History series, thinks of his character as a family man despite having “committed horrible deeds.” After all, it’s not like the Vikings have done any better. And he doesn’t care who Alfred’s biological father is, as long as he gets to raise his sons.

Aethelwulf has huge respect for Ecbert, and he did whatever his old man commanded. Now that his father is gone and he is king, Aethelwulf has to continue to be wiser. And Dunford believes “he’s on equal par with his dad.”

The last time Judith, Ecbert and Aethelwulf were together, they made a pact to move on past the betrayals for the sake of Wessex. Aethelwulf knows that he has to “step up and raise the kid” as the battle doesn’t stop with him. It’s going to continue for generations and he’s shaping up his successor, who’s apparently going to take the throne soon.

Some pages of the upcoming season’s screenplay have been leaked. The “Vikings” season 5 episode 17 sheets, which were first posted on Reddit, hint on Aethelwulf’s seeming death. Further sealing his fate is the fact that one of the pages indicates that Alfred has his own army, which obviously means that he becomes king.

The leaked script amendment list has “scene 1709” set in the Royal Villa at Wessex. The scene involves “Judith, Elsewith, Ethelfled, Bishop and Alfred” where a “camera passes over graves of Ecbert and Aethelwulf.” Also included is a conversation between Alfred and Ubbe, with the latter wanting to lead the former’s army.

The leaked screenplay apparently belongs to one Helen Shaver, whose name is printed across the pages. A quick search tells that Shaver is a Canadian actress and also a film and television director.

Below is the leaked script involving Ubbe and Alfred, with Torvi delivering one line. Stay connected with IBTimes Australia for more “Vikings” season 5 updates.

Torvi: “I have a terrible habit of telling the truth.”

* Someone laughs.

* Alfred looks at Ubbe.

Alfred: “Very well. Then what do YOU advise?

Ubbe: “I advise you to make me head of your army–”

Alfred: “But–”

Ubbe: “I think you should listen. Words are fine, but they don’t win battles. Make me head of your army, and I will work out a way of dealing with the Danes.”

* Alfred glances at Judith, then at Elsewith.

* Then back at Ubbe.
