“Vikings” season 4 episode 18 titled “Revenge” doesn’t have much written in the official synopsis about it, nor does it have a lengthy teaser. However, the 10-second teaser and two-line synopsis tell enough that the 18th episode of the series will be a lot more than an ordinary one. It will probably keep viewer's attention until the very last as the battle begins.

The promo shows that the Great Heathen Army as described in the written history has been formed. It is in action against King Aelle (Ivan Kaye). “This will be the largest army we have ever sent out,” says Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) in the promo.

In “Vikings” season 4 episode 18, Ragnar’s sons Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig), Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith), Ivar (Alex Høgh Andersen), Sigurd (David Lindström) and Hvitserk (Marco Ilsø) are all seen battling it out to avenge their father’s death. There is going to be a lot of bloodshed, apparently.

Ragnar’s plan comes to fruition

Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) wanted his sons to avenge his father’s death. The great army is set up and it will arrive at the Northumbria, where the battle will begin. Hence, Ragnar’s plan will come to fruition. If Ragnar’s sons were the ones who attacked first, or if it were King Aelle who said in the last episode that he was all prepared, remains to be seen. Furthermore, if there’s anything more to Ragnar’s plan that will also come to fruition will soon be revealed in episode 18.

Amid all this, fans are wondering if Rollo’s (Clive Standen) presence would be felt in the forthcoming episode and if he would also contribute to the battle. Moreover, speculations about when the secret of Bjorn’s affair with Astrid (Josefin Asplund) will be busted are also doing the rounds. Another thing to look forward to is how the girl brought back by Helga (Maude Hirst) would impact the story.

All secrets will be unveiled when “Vikings” season 4 episode 18 will air on Jan.11 at 9PM ET in the US. The show also airs in Australia on SBS One at 8:30PM.
